As a host, it's completely normal to need a break now and then. With the "Schedule a Break" feature, you can easily in indicate that you are not available to do bookings and reply to communication, ensuring guests have up-to-date information about your availability and ability to respond to them. Additionally, during a break period new messages received from guests will not be taken into account for your timely response score.

Step-by-Step Guide to Scheduling a Break

Open Your Host Dashboard:
- Log in to your Withlocals account and navigate to your host dashboard.
- You’ll see an option to "Schedule a break" – this is where you can set up your time off.

Select "Schedule a Break":
- Click on the "Schedule a break" option. A pop-up will appear asking if you need a break.
- Click "Let's schedule a break" to proceed.

Set Up Your Break:
- A new window will open, titled "Set up break." Here, you can select the start date and end date of your break using the calendar.
- Confirm your dates and make sure you check the box that acknowledges you’re still responsible for fulfilling any upcoming bookings and communicating with guests.

Schedule Your Break:
- After selecting your dates, click the "Schedule your break" button. Your calendar will automatically block those dates, and guests will not be able to book or send new chat messages during this period.

Confirmation:
- Once scheduled, you’ll see a confirmation pop-up that says, "Enjoy your break!" This window will show the break period you've set, and you can return to your dashboard or view your agenda.

Changing or Removing Your Break:
- If your plans change and you need to adjust your break, go back to your dashboard.
- Click on "Change break" to modify the dates or remove the break if you’re ready to get back to hosting.
- A pop-up will appear where you can choose to "Make changes" or "Remove break." If you’re ready to end your break early, simply select "Yes, I'm ready" in the pop-up.

- Prevent Unavailable Bookings: Block off your unavailable days in advance, avoiding cancellations and new messages while at the same time keeping guests informed.
- Improve Your Performance: New messages from guests that come in during your period break period do not count towards your timely response score.
