The Withlocals Family Friendly experiences offer families the opportunity to discover the city in a relaxing, trouble-free and fun way. Kids can embark on exciting treasure hunts, turn into a Gladiator/Rembrandt/Chef for a day and eat local treats en route. All while the grown-ups get to listen to the enchanting local stories of their family-friendly host!

Types of Family Friendly offers:
Withlocals Originals Family Friendly
This is when we adapt the itinerary of an existing Withlocals Originals so that is suitable for kids ages 2 - 10. This means we shorten the route to be maximum 2 hours long. We aim to include child-friendly stops, such as a park. We also include a treat for each child (ice-cream, local treat).
There will also be a treasure hunt and quiz created for the children that the hosts use to keep the kids interacting. The treasure hunt is a sheet with 4 or 6 pictures of things the kids can look for along the way. They can be obvious like city highlights, certain elements typical for the city (e.g. gondolas in Venice), etc. Elements with a nice story are even better!

Quiz questions: The quiz is another game to play with the kids during the tour. It has 5 questions related to the tour and the city, meant to help keep the kids engaged, and help them learn things along the way. Here’s an example: Quiz
Family Friendly Host Offers
You can also create your own tours that are suitable for kids! You can include your own treasure hunts or quizzes. Or you can do a completely unique and new idea Eg:
- Family cooking class (simple recipes, sweets)
- City tour with parks and nature
- Treasure hunt in a special attraction (a famous museum, park etc.)
- Workshops (making a traditional souvenir, painting etc.)
- Themed tours (medieval, famous characters - “Paris Like a Princess” model)
Tip: Think of what makes each offer special & family-friendly. A city tour can be made much more interesting for the kids if you add a treasure hunt & costume element (e.g. dragon treasure hunt & sword)
Family-Friendly Tour Verification
If we need some Family Friendly adapted photos, our team might contact hosts to do a photoshoot with a professional photographer.
Hosts will then receive the contact details of the photographer and you arrange the meeting and the route. The route should include some highlights of the city, and the photographers will be given a shot list. Hosts should bring 2 friends or family members along to appear in the photos to pose as guests.
Make it fun by bringing accessories and wearing colorful clothes!
