How do I manage my availability on Withlocals?

Your agenda is your main tool as a Withlocals host - through your agenda you can control when you are or aren't available for guests to book an experience with you. That's why it's very important to keep it updated at all times - to maximize the time you have available, and avoid being booked at times that are not suitable for you.

To ensure a great experience for guests and maintain an active and visible profile on the Withlocals platform, it's important to manage your availability properly. There are three main tools to help you do this, depending on your situation:

1. Manage Your Agenda (Calendar Availability)

This is your day-to-day availability, which you can manage directly from your agenda in your host dashboard.

  • Set which days and times you're available for each experience.

  • Make adjustments by blocking or unblocking specific dates.

  • Use this if you just want to adjust availability in the short term — for example, blocking a few days while you’re on a trip or dealing with personal matters.

Watch this video for more explanation:

Your agenda is OPEN by default, this means that guests can book you for a tour at any time unless you BLOCK certain days/time slots.

It is important to know that Withlocals Original Tours are automatically confirmed, so guests can book directly if your agenda is OPENPlease make sure to keep your agenda updated! This will prevent guests from booking a tour with you when you are not available!

⚠️ Important: Do not block your entire agenda for extended periods. This can lead to account deactivation, as it shows your profile as inactive. If you’re planning to take a longer break, please use one of the two options below.

2. Schedule a Break (For Short-Term Time Off – Up to 3 Months)

If you want to temporarily stop receiving messages and requests — but plan to return soon — you can schedule a break.

  • Ideal for vacations, busy periods at work, or short personal breaks.

  • Your profile will remain online, but guests won't be able to contact or book you during the break period.

  • You can still receive booking requests for dates after your break ends.

  • Your profile is automatically reactivated at the end of your break.

This is the best option for taking time off without risking deactivation.

3. Take Your Profile Offline (For Longer Breaks or Uncertain Returns)

If you know you’ll be away from hosting for a while or aren’t sure when you'll return, you can take your profile completely offline.

  • Your profile will no longer be visible to guests.

  • You won’t appear in search results or receive any new messages or requests.

  • You can reactivate your profile anytime when you're ready to host again — just log in and turn your profile back on.

This is a good option if you're stepping away for several months or more.
