Ensure that you respect and protect the local land, its culture, and its heritage.
Respect the local rules & regulations
The saying "rules are there to be broken" isn't always so cool, especially when they are there to protect the local culture, people, animals, and plants. If guidelines are provided of what you should and should not do, Withlocals asks for all guests to follow them, to keep destinations protected!
Waste & Recycling
Withlocals tours aim to limit the use of plastic as much as possible. That's why we do not provide water bottles to guests in case you are already prepared with a reusable one! Hosts are prepared to show you where to fill your bottles. We also recommend bringing reusable containers for the food tours, so you can take any leftovers home without using waste. Try to bring your own bags if you do any shopping, so you can say no to single-use plastic ones. Ask your host how recycling works in the destination, so you can do your best to be a clean guest.
Avoid the crowds
Withlocals tours aim to take you off the beaten path where possible. Overtourism can be an issue in some destinations for the locals. That's why we recommend checking out the main highlights in off-peak times (such as early or late) and checking out more alternative sides of the city during the high time.
