The Transport Mode form is part of the host profile, which aims to make it easier for you to be matched as a host with suitable Withlocals Originals experiences according to your skills & preferences.
You can access the new form from your host homepage:
In the form, you can select all modes of transport you can provide for your guests on tours. You should also include modes of transport which you can rent (like a car).
Walking and public transport are selected by default and can be de-selected if you wish to. For the car & boat option, you will also be asked to fill in the number of guests you can accommodate (1 to 8+). There is also an open field where you can fill in other transport modes.
After the form is filled, you can save & exit. The updated selection will be reflected on your homepage. The form can be edited multiple times, as needed.
Why is this information being collected?
This information will help our platform easily match hosts with the right tours (e.g. hosts who can do bike tours will be recommended to join bike tours). The automatic experience recommendation tool for hosts will be built by our team in the next period, to give hosts more independence to join Withlocals Originals experiences.
Will this information affect my host offers?
No, this information is only connected to Withlocals Originals experiences. On your own host offers, you can still select any of the available transport modes.
I don’t own a car/bike, but I can rent one for tours with guests. Should I fill that in?
Yes, if you are willing and able to rent a specific transport mode for your tours, please select that mode of transport in the form. Keep in mind that you should hold the valid licenses/permits required locally for such tours (i.e. in some destinations, certain licenses are required for driving guests in a car).
Will my transport modes be visible to guests on my public profile?
For now, the transport modes will not be visible to guests. They will be taken into account in the future when recommending each host suitable Withlocals Originals experiences to join.
